The creation of artwork has allowed me to experience extraordinary growth as an individual. I have learned to pursue and develop complex ideas with conceptual and emotional depth. Art has progressively expanded my thought process leading to greater technical control and enhanced personal meaning in my work.
I have always maintained an interest in drawing, but computer graphics has become my true passion. I have developed confidence in design, a flair for color, and a strong infatuation with the process of creating artwork with the appearance of a finished product.
I explore various text forms, symbolism and symmetry in my work. Symmetry is something that has always fascinated me, beyond its use in my art. I like to feel its presence in life, because I feel that having balance or a happy medium is important to the philosophical and personal centering I strive for.
Computer graphics has allowed me to strengthen my ability and to get closer to my full artistic potential. Creating art on the computer gives me a feeling of limitlessness and polish that I personally have not been able to attain or represent in artwork using traditional media.
Although computer graphics occupies a large majority of my time and effort I continue to enjoy painting and writing poetry. My paintings consist of heavy abstractions, messy scribble drawings, material bricolage, and palimpsestic layering as well as my own poetry. I like to work primarily with mixed media because of the textures and layers I can create. My favorite and current materials include spray paint, rubber cement, tulle, lace, polyurethane, watercolor, and acrylic paint.
Even though I create with confidence and I have my favorite processes I fully understand that there is so much more to learn and experience. Art is the path I have chosen to follow and the future holds much allure.
