Portfolio Proposal#7

4.26.10 (somewhere around there)

Project Description: I am going to make a series of paintings in frames. I want to spray paint these three identical frames I got for free from sonya and paint something inside of each one. I am not sure yet what I want to do, I think I am going to be drawing faces or maybe just abstractions.

Objective: I want to have more paintings for the artshow, and I like the idea of the smaller sized frames together.

Materials: Canvas, acrylics, oils, spray paint, string, nails, rubber cement.

Timeline: One a week for three weeks.

Portfolio Proposal #6

Project Description: I am going to make eight pieces using Photoshop. I am going to find black and white photographs of celebrities who have died recently or have impacted me. I am working to cut away or erase the background of each image and then coloring each person in by hand. After I have placed the image over a new background I will apply text about each celebrity behind them.

Objective: I want to make these pieces because I want closure on there deaths. For the first time in my life, people I know of or have grown up hearing about are dying/dead.

Materials: Photoshop

Timeline: 2 every week for four weeks

Portfolio Proposal #5

Project Description: I am going to make ten pieces using different methods of overlaying by using shape layers to copy and paste in different images over top of other images. I am not sure what the images will be exactly, but I’m hoping they will look decent.

Objective: To move onto a higher level of designing, using more layering technique, learning to incorperate more complexity to simple designs.

Materials: Photoshop

Timeline: Not sure how long it will take, lets say 1 a week.

Portfolio Proposal #4

Project Description: I am going to make 5 pieces using Photoshop. I found a really interesting website with many old fashion medical illustrations. I’m gonna overlay and put the pictures together to make an interesting set of symmetrical designs.

Objective: I want to push the limit on the materials I am given to create my work, I want to work with something I haven’t yet seen. I think that these pictures will turn out grotesk and dark, I am interested to see the outcome.

Materials: Photoshop

Timeline: I want to finish 2 a week for 2.5 weeks.

Portfolio Proposal #3

Project Description: I want to make five pieces on the computer using photoshop. I plan on making each piece 30×30 inch squares. I want to take pictures of guns and use the lasso tool to make them into solid shape layers, they are going to turn into silhouettes. I am going to make them brightly colored and layered into a symmetric design.
Objective: I am interested in the meaning of symbols and how they are interpreted. I had the idea to use guns to make these designs because of what they represent as a symbol, which is everything associated with power, war, greed, and hatred. I want to make a bright and colorful design out of guns because of the contradicting symbolisms between brightly colorful and a dead grey.
Materials: Photoshop
Timeline: I want to complete one every week for five weeks.

Portfolio Proposal

9/9/09

Project Description: I want to make four pieces on the computer using Photoshop and Illustrator. (When I print them I can make them whatever size I want) I made a piece this summer that inspired me to do what I am going to do now. I’m going to make different images cutting over each other into something like a collage. The collages will be parallel and have an image in the middle of them.

Objective: I want each piece to have a theme and then the center image will be contradictory. An example would be putting a bunch of things associated with being wealthy and then have a picture of a dead or starving child in the center.

Materials: Photoshop and Illustrator.

Timeline: One a week for four weeks.

Project Proposal #2

10/12/09

Project Description: I plan to make ten pieces using original stencils of arrows. The background will be different according to the pieces and I have no yet decided on colors.

Objective: I had an idea that everything grows out of each other and that everything relates to each other. A single thing creates another thing and another thing creates that thing. Everything multiples and builds off of one another. I had the idea to use arrows growing out of each other and point back at each other because of it’s meaning of pointing towards something. The pieces will show arrows pointing inward and outward, and most importantly all connected to each other.

Materials: Paper, an Exacto Knife, Spray Paint, Acrylic Paint, Thule, Rubber Cement, and Water Colors.

Timeline: I plan to finish 2 pieces a week for the next 4 weeks.
